TELESET was established
in 1990 as a venture joint stock company. Company was founded
for the purposes of design and manufacturing of satellite antennas.
In 1991-1994 TELESET produced many hundred thousands dishes
and organized export to more then 20 countries: Germany, Holland,
England, Israel, Finland, Poland, Australia, Arab Emirates among
them.
Meantime the Russian Market were growing step by step and in
1995 TELESET started to concentrate mainly on CIS countries
as it became more profitable for the company. We established
Satellite TV and Cable TV equipment departments and started
to provide the whole service range for customers, including
project design and installation services for any complicated
cases.
In 1993-1994 Company understood the demand for Multichannel
broadcasting television and were among of the first in the world
when developing 40-42 GHz LMDS-system. We managed to produce
system sample and presented it at Moscow exhibition "Communications-94"
for market research purposes and understood that Russia was
not prepared for such system yet and project was frozen.
In 1995 Company realized efficiency of MMDS (Multichannel Multiple
Distribution Service) which provides wireless access to the
subscribers in 2,5-2,7 GHz band and chose this technology as
the main for our activities. From our point of view, MMDS is
the best technical solution for the "last mile" problem
in Russia till now.
In 1998-2002 Company installed more then 25 MMDS systems in
different Russian cities and made few big projects at the field
of cable TV. We continue our efforts at MMDS field: are very
active in cooperation with local telecommunication companies
and expect now up to 10 more systems in 2003.
The project, sponsored by the local authorities of Novouralsk
city in 2000 was the first site where the Company developed
multimedia MMDS/cable network which provides wireless access
to 17 channels of cable television as well as Internet and IP-
telephony or any other type of Data Transmission Services.
